The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, with over 450,000 members organized into more than 1,000 neighborhood chapters in 103 cities across the country. During the last tax season, ACORN Centers connected more than 42,000 families to $46 million in refunds, including $28 million in earned-income and child tax credits. Families who took advantage of ACORN’s services saved an estimated $5.2 million in commercial tax preparation fees. |
