Save a Home is an initiative developed by ACORN
Save a Home is an initiative developed by ACORN that connects New Orleans residents who have lost their homes to people across the US helping them rebuild, as volunteers and donors. By donating $2,000 you can save a home in New Orleans from deterioration and demolition, assisting a family in the first step of rebuilding. The donation of $2,500 covers all the costs of gutting out a home, from tools to the salaries of our crew chiefs. We will let you know the homes that your donation has enabled us to gut and preserve, with pictures and a small description of the family. With our volunteers' work and the support of concerned donors we have already been able to save 2,000 homes. We are asking for your support to salvage the additional 2,000 on our list. You can make a difference by getting your friends, family, and co-workers to help you Save a Home in New Orleans. Please check out our pages on how to fundraise or contact us for fundraising ideas and support. Though it may seem like a lot at first many people have raised the funds to save a home and helped a family get back in their home. Please note on the check or in an accompanying letter that your donation is for the Save a Home initiative. You can donate online (note in the 'on behalf of' section that this is for the Save a Home initiative) or send your tax-deductible check to: ACORN Institute THANK YOU! TOGETHER WE WILL REBUILD NEW ORLEANS!
