The biggest obstacle to building support for our New Orleans communities is often a lack of information. People across the nation are eager to help; we have seen this in our volunteers’ work. More often than not however, they do not know how to.

These web pages were built to inform people about what we are doing in low-income and minority neighborhoods across New Orleans. They are nonetheless useless if no one knows about them. You can help us raise funds, volunteers, and most importantly - awareness - by spreading the word.

It's easy, and here are a couple of ways how people are doing it:

Hold a Fundraiser:  Individuals across the country have shown their support to ACORN’s Hurricane Recovery and Rebuilding program by hosting a variety of different fundraisers.  One supporter in LA hosted a New Orleans benefit dinner and poker game raising $1,500.   While another, a Body Shop Sales rep, sold her body shop goods at a table before a Badgers game in Madison, WI and donated her profits to ACORN.   From hosting a Holiday benefit party to having a car wash, fundraisers can be fun and creative ways to help Rebuild New Orleans.  With the holiday season and the end of the year approaching it is the perfect time to plan a fundraiser.
