Neightborhood Trash Containers

ACORN neighborhoods in Parque Patricios and Barracas have won campaigns trash containers for many streets in order to lesson the trash in the street which is not only dangerous for health reasons, but also clogs the sewage system and encourages flooding.

Rat Extermination

Another related win is the rat extermination in these communities to fight the spread of disease and contamination by the vermin.

In these same neighborhoods we have also won the clean up of tree branches that are culpable for blocking the cloacas.

Sewage System Examination

After a telephone action to the CGP, a sewage system specialist did an examination with the guidance of neighbors in the focus area of Barracas. He believed that the pipes were under stress due to the large number of people living in the area. His recommendation is to eliminate heavy transit in the area due.  His reasoning is that the trucks weight is damaging the pipes.

Housing Campaigns

We have worked with different groups of residents to prevent their eviction and we  are working towards a campaign for access to affordable housing.
