Dear Member of the Media:

You are invited to cover the 2008 ACORN National Convention in Detroit, Mich. June 22 and 23 at the Cobo Center as ACORN members celebrate 38 years of fighting for the rights of low- and moderate-income families.

This year's convention, "Building Dreams Across America," focuses on stemming the foreclosure crisis, winning immigration reform, cutting poverty in half, obtaining quality affordable health care, and rebuilding New Orleans.

Confirmed speakers include former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif), U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourners, and many other progressive leaders.
