The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a refundable tax credit for working people who earn a low to moderate income. Depending on income and number of children, you may receive a credit of up to $4,536.

Who Qualifies for the EITC?

EITC up to $412: If you had no children living with you in 2006 and you earned less than $12,120, and you were between ages 25-64 (married filing jointly income limit is $14,120)

EITC up to $2,747: If you lived with one child in 2006 and your family earned less than $32,001 (married filing jointly income limit is $34,001)

EITC up to $4,536: If you lived with two of more children in 2006 and your family earned less than $36,348 (married filing jointly income limit is $38,348)
